Telelingua has been chosen by the head office of PSA Peugeot Citroën for a new project to create a terminology database in 19 languages, which will be the result of merging the Peugeot and Citroën thesauruses. Processing a total volume of more than 6,000,000 expressions in 20 languages involves a combination of advanced language technology (automatic segmentation, lemmatisation, tokenisation, semantic disambiguation, etc.) and confirmation by professional linguists. The aim is to rationalize the process of managing multilingual documentation in XML format, controlling translation costs and increasing the consistency of terminology. This project is being carried out in close cooperation with the language and translation team of the translation studies faculty of the University College Ghent, a young research group under the supervision of Professor Véronique Hoste. |
