Company History :
TELELINGUA INTERNATIONAL first saw the light of day in 1985, in Brussels. At the time, the company was called Translate International and primarily supplied technical, financial, medical and marketing translation services to both local companies and multinationals.
In 2000, the Telelingua group acquired Paris-based Active Text, which is now TELELINGUA FRANCE.
During that same year, and in partnership with one of Belgium’s leading universities (UCL), Telelingua spun off a company focused on developing technological solutions to improve productivity within the translation process. Telelingua was the first company to develop a system for centralized storage of translation memories that were simultaneously accessible by multiple translators via the Internet. In 2002, the Telelingua group created TELELINGUA USA in order to be closer to its North American clients.
In 2007, Telelingua acquired the 4T company in Paris with the aim of raising its profile in France.
In 2008, the group took over a Munich-based translation company and formed Telelingua Deutschland.
Also in 2008, the group put its joint venture with Bright Translation Services, a large translation company based in Shenzhen and Beijing, China, on an official footing.
